WHAT... ANOTHER NEWSLETTER?
|
|
|
|
|
Some of you have recently received
(via snail mail) the first issue of the Gallatin River Ranch Roundup, a
newsletter written and hosted by and for the homeowners at GRR. This
newsletter you are now reading is the Gallatin River Ranch Review, a
publication written and distributed by our Sales Office at GRR. Some of
you have been receiving this periodical via e-mail for sometime. If you
do not wish to receive these quarterly "Reviews", you may
un-subscribe by clicking the appropriate link at the bottom of the last
page. That being said…. we do hope you will stay with us, and if you
have not already made a trip to Montana
to check out the Ranch, you should make it a "must" this
summer. Call one of our Ranch Associates and make an appointment today!

NEW AIRLINE TO THE GALLATIN
VALLEY
|
|
|
|
|
We have several airlines operating out
of Gallatin Field already (Delta, United, and Horizon/Alaska). However,
we are excited that Frontier will be scheduling several daily flights
in and out of our airport beginning May 23, 2008. So if you are looking
for a more economical airline for trips in and out of the Bozeman area,
check it out! Frontier already has their summer schedule posted, and is
making reservations now! Our little piece of heaven is growing, so more
and better airline connections are something we have been anticipating
and readily welcome.

IS IT SPRING YET?
|
|
|
|
|
Mother Nature has been playing tricks
on us this spring. Our weather has been shifting from 75-degree days,
back down to freezing with snow flurries, and then back again! Our snow
boots have gone in and out of the storage closet a couple of times
during April, but we're hoping now that May is here, they will stay
put! A sure sign of spring, however, (even through the snow flurries!)
is the return of the Mountain Bluebirds and Robins. Watching them peck
through the patchy snow, looking for worms and insects in the grasses,
is always a welcome sight. The colorful Finches and Mountain Chickadees
are also back. We all put out birdfeeders for them, and so enjoy
watching them happily empty the feeders almost daily!
A real bonus to all the moisture we have received this spring is the
promise of rolling lush green grasses and abundant wildflowers that
will be upon us before we know it. Springtime in the Rockies...
it can take your breath away. For those who have lived most of their
lives in cities, springtime here is a sight to remember, photograph and
relish.

INTERIOR DESIGNER IN MATTHATTAN
|
|
|
|
|
We often like to highlight new
businesses and/or new construction in Manhattan. This spring, we introduce
you to Christine Gray, an active member of the American Society of
Interior Designers (ASID). Through Gray Designs, Chris' specialties
include working with both the client and contractor, specifying
exterior and interior finishes, and space planning. Finalizing the
project, she further is experienced and skilled at working with the
client in furniture procurement, art and accessory selection. Gray
Designs occupied a commercial space on Broadway in Manhattan a few years ago, and now
has returned to town, working out of a suite in the new Manhattan
Marketplace at 120 South
5th Street. Chris continues to work for
clients in several other states, but Montana is her home and still her
primary business focus. If you are in need of some help planning your
dream home, do consider Chris. You may go to her website for further
information www.grayinteriordesigns.com.

ANNUAL STAMPEDE
|
|
|
|
|
Every year in April, we love to take a
short drive to the small town of Three Forks to watch the traditional
"Three Forks Stampede". A ranching family who has been in the
horse business for generations rounds up and herds several 100 head of
horses from their winter pasture in the hills near Willow Creek to
their ranch and the horses' summer home on the Missouri
River. This 30-mile drive is done each spring, inviting up
to 20 participants to ride with the herd over the 3-day drive. The
second day of the drive, they RUN the horses down Main Street, as they
make their way to their summer home on the Missouri. It's quite a sight
to see, and thousands of folks come out each year to watch. It turns
into a party with lots of eats, entertainment at the Ruby Theater in
late afternoon, then on to dancing later in the evening. If you've
never been to this fun event, don't miss it next April! It's a real
thrill to watch a stampede down the Main Street of a town!

NEWS FROM OUR HOMEOWNER BOARD
|
|
|
|
|
We've had more snow than usual this
winter and early spring, thus the road maintenance remains a priority
here at GRR. We've purchased a Ford truck and converted it to a
sander/plow truck to work with the roads. We also have obtained a
4,000-gallon water truck, which will help with the maintenance of the
roads and also assist our volunteer fire department if the need arises.
The 2008 Homeowner Weekend is scheduled for August 8-10, 2008. We
encourage every owner to make plans to attend this fun-filled weekend
and participate in the annual homeowner meeting. Prospective owners
should plan to attend the Saturday night event where they will have fun
meeting current owners who live here at the Ranch.

FROM THE ROUNDPEN
|
|
|
|
|
The GRR Equestrian
Center is
thriving under the new management. Kathy and Todd Pyles have been
working hard, and doing a great job since taking over a few months ago.
They are planning an Open House BBQ on Saturday, June 21, and everyone
is invited! It will be a good opportunity to meet the Pyles if you
don’t already know them, take a look at all the beautiful horses,
and mix and mingle with friends and neighbors. There will be more
information forthcoming regarding details of the BBQ.
When asked what was new, Kathy responded, "Well, the barn is just
about to capacity, the horses are happy, foals are being born, it's all
good!" Kathy also said she hopes to have a Kid's & Horse
Day-Camp in early August, but she's still working on that one! (Call
the E.C. in early summer to check on this!) And thank goodness spring
is finally here! Folks are grooming their horses to rid them of their
winter coats, getting ready for some fun spring and summer riding!
