Gallatin River Ranch (GRR) is located outside Bozeman in the Horseshoe Hills of beautiful southwest Montana. With 5,900(+/-) acres of rolling grassland and remarkable geological formations. Our eyes can wander from rocky 5,000 foot cliffs to fertile marshlands along the river banks. It doesn't take long to understand why our homesteads are so unique.
Where the only sound you might hear is the footfall on the trail, experience these features on horseback or in a pair of comfortable hiking boots. Follow one of the hundreds of game trails that meander through fragrant sagebrush, junipers, and the twisted bark of cedar trees.
As responsible stewards of our native rangeland, within the Ranch, we thoughtfully created nearly 2,000 acres of dedicated common area. This open space provides a recreational corridor to insure protected landscape, access to hiking, trail riding, birdwatching, and wildlife viewing for generations to come.

The birds and wildlife on the Gallatin River Ranch is truly remarkable. This unique ecosystem encourages the bird and wildlife populations to flourish. In the springtime nature abounds. Ducklings learn to navigate the waters, and antelope and deer fawns try out their wobbling new legs. Migratory birds create a summertime birding paradise and by fall the song of gathering SandHill Cranes fill the crisp morning air. As our days begin to shorten, the Snowshoe Hare's coat changes from grey to white in preparation for winter camouflage. Bucks parade their magnificent antlers and coyotes sing under a canopy of stars. This is one ofthe last strongholds for bald eagles, osprey, otters, weasels, mink, marten, beaver, sandhill cranes, herons and pelicans. Elk, black bear and even an occasional mountain lion might be spotted in the surrounding foothills. As remarkable as the bird and big game hunting is near the Ranch, it is equaled or surpassed by the quality and quantity of the trout. Really big trout keep our anglers coming back for more!
